It is now officially spring break. It's cold and wet and feels like winter. So, what is a girl to do? I have tons of hours before teacher brunch tomorrow morning so my mind is begging for some creativity. In the last few weeks in class we have had a lot of projects that have involved paint so I was looking around for some ideas and creativity using something other than paint. As I was cleaning for Open House I found a secret stash of crayons. You know the new, never been used crayons that just make you heart melt when you see them? I can hardly pick up a new box of crayons without thinking of my very first box. I can still remember my sister and I telling my mom the little tiny box of 24 crayons simply would not do. We just had to have the 64 with the built in sharpener. You know the box that actually had metallics. Seriously, aqua and metallics AND a built in sharpener!
I had to take trip and visit Pinterest to get some inspiration for my crayon crafts. As I was looking around I found some things that I want to try. I am sure you have seen them too.
I still just want to make one of these. It looks easy. It looks like fun.
And I still just want to get my hands working on this.
And gosh, I kind of just have to have this to hold all of those crayons while I am working.
And I have to have this too!
All this crafty research and now I want to redesign my craft room! Sometimes we all need to let ourselves just take a break and do something we just want to do! So who really cares if it is cold and rainy on your first hours of spring break?
A friend of mine recently searched Pinterest for an idea to do with her niece and the two of them tried the melted crayon artwork. It turned out great! They placed the crayons into a heart shape and used a blow dryer. The result now hangs on her niece's wall as a reminder of their fun playdate! Have a great break!!
