Freebie Santa Likes Shapes!

http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Santa-Likes-Shapes-452487
Hey Kinder Friends,
Just wanted to share with you an oldie but goodie especially this time of year. This might come in handy for some shape review or stuffing in some homework folders. It also gives you just another chance to talk about that tricky trapezoid. You know it is my favorite because it is a red pattern block and all but dang this year he is tricky for some of my friends. Heck rhombus seems to be a breeze and we just love like crazy a hexagon but that silly little trapezoid is driving a few of us just crazy!

If that tricky trapezoid is giving you fits too just click on the image and grab yours too! Who knows...maybe Santa can help us out!

Getting It All Done And Fun!

Hey Kinder Friends,
Well hasn't it been fun having two ice days in Texas? Really we should celebrate because that drive home on Thursday was just dreadful. But the time has been well spent planning and preparing to make a big bang before the semester officially ends. This time of year is always so much fun in Kindergarten. It is hard to fit it all in and keep the objectives going too! As I was looking through my files it really made me want to create and recreate some things from the past and make it easier to get it all done. And with that in mind I did just that!
I love just running to my computer and printing off those life savers that we all have because it makes me feel like I have time to invest in creating or finding something I don't have that addresses some more pressing need. After two ice days I feel as though I needed some quick print and run fun!
http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Santa-Goes-To-School-Print-And-Run-Printables-1015395
So I created Santa Goes To School Print and Run Skill Based Holiday Fun. And while I was working my mind started wandering... Because if you know me then you know how much I love teaching Science. And I could not wait to get my hands on those files and dress them up a bit for the holidays! And when it was all said and done I ended up with a lot of holiday fun and a lot less drama!
And although I had this kind of drama in Science last week I still can't wait to get to school and get to investigating. I really can't wait. Because you know... Santa IS the best toy expert in the world and he needs a little help.
Just love this book year after year. And it just gives me a reason to investigate toys and a little force and motion. I really can't wait!
You see when I start talking about Science I get all kinds of excited. I warned you and you might have known it. So let's get down to the real nitty gritty. You know as Kinder teachers we all love some of those traditional things like reindeer food to send with the kids and countdown to Christmas bell chains. You know everyone does it because it's like teacher tradition and they were passed on to  from wonderful teachers. But let's face it, times have changed and so have our jobs and fitting it all in is just difficult. So instead of reaching into a file or tote for that crinkled up template, I recreated my two classic favorites. Yep, just print and run fun for me! Which now frees me up some time to invest into assessment and report cards.

Hey Kinder Friends,
I love just about everything gingerbread and when I saw a new to me gingerbread book it had me searching around for this fun printable from last year. With this open ended activity you can get a good idea of what your kids know about patterns. I have seen some real elaborate patterns with this one and some that were super simple. And the best part is that anything goes! This would go great with some of those favorite gingerbread books that we always seem to love to read this time of year!
If you need a copy just click on the first image and grab yours!
Super excited to find this new one to add to my collection! If you are looking for it to check out Amazon!

It's Simple!

Hey Kinder Friends,
This time of year easy is the name of the game! You know you are so busy that anything that is easy just seems to be appealing in order to get it all accomplished! As I was putting up my own Christmas tree I came across a few hand print ornaments made by my son. You know those ornaments that you can't wait to find in the box. It is those simple ornaments that evoke a real sense of Christmas and family and a little tug in your heart. This angel hand print ornament is one of those simple ornaments that I have always enjoyed to make in class because we always have these materials on hand and it takes no time at all. And what mother wouldn't cherish a hand print angel to put on the tree year after year?
All you need to make your own...
Kindergarten hands
White paint
Construction paper
Glitter
Sharpie
They look great laminated and which will help them last a lot longer when they are stored in the ornament box to be discovered year after year!
I have to admit they looked pretty cute on our classroom tree last year!

Sharing Cookies Freebie!

Hey Kinder Friends,
Well since I made my introduction on the Freebielicious blog I had to have something to share as a little welcome to my world gift. You know your mom always taught you to be a good host. So, in the spirit of that and the holidays, I am sharing cookies with you the virtual way. Christmas cookies have always been a favorite of mine and they evoke a lot of fond memories from childhood. I can still remember Christmas cookie decorating parties that my mom threw for me and my friends, I remember my great grandmother making amazing cookies and being a parent and passing on that tradition. Christmas cookies just remind me of my whole life. And no Christmas would be complete without them.
Each year I make the annual trip to my favorite bakery just for Christmas cookies to decorate. And when I walk in the door I suddenly feel like I am five all over again. Even if just for a minute, I relive some of my favorite memories as I scan the case for the cookies I will take home with me.
It's hard to contain yourself in a place like this! So much to see and take in. A bakery nestled inside a church and dressed and ready for the holidays. I swear there is nothing better!
This annual visit always gives me a great story to share at Writer's Workshop and it gives me a wonderful opportunity to read the book Christmas Cookies and talk about traditions and family celebrations! And to support the reading/writing connection I had to make this book and share it with my friends!

http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Little-Miss-Kindergarten
Hey Kinder Friends,
Oh my and a piece of pie! It's been fun and a great break from the everyday. I have laughed as much as I can and now it's time for some serious Cyber Monday talk. I mean seriously friends this click and clack on the computer is way too much fun that I can't even seem to describe it. Who does not love the idea of buying what you need and when you have a little time! And in a snip and a snap you are ready to go! Shopping online while the dishes are going, the laundry is bubbling and you are making your list and checking it twice is my kind of multitasking! And in the spirit of Cyber Monday I have put my Teachers pay Teachers store on sale for Monday and Tuesday of this week. And using the TpT code CYBER you can save up to 28%! All in all it is a DEAL friends! Have a super Cyber Monday!
