The second most popular blog post of the year was The Dice Box! I bet you are wondering how well this little system went and if I still use it. We have used the dice box all year. I love it. I found the container at either Hobby Lobby or Wal Mart. This box sits on a shelf close to my math boxes and we get the dice we need and begin working. I wanted a system where my children could be independent so this is perfect for us. I have a lot of dice variety and that enables me to be able to differentiate a lot of the activities that we use dice for. We had a lot of dice lessons and tons of free exploration just rolling and recording our dice rolls before we used the dice with purpose. The dice container above allows us to put a die in the cup and prevent all those rip roaring rambling and rolling dice across the room. I am sure the kids miss that but the cups help us focus more on the task at hand instead of practicing duck and cover when dice are in the air.
Dice boxes would go perfect with these...
