As the controversy continues over graphics, I have another question for you that was brought to my attention by another blogger that I respect a lot. If you have items on your blog that you promote or sell then do you have a commercial blog or a personal teacher blog? If you have advertisements on your blog do you have a commercial blog or do you have a personal teacher blog? What do you think? And who in blogland gets to define this?

I think if you aren't directly getting income on your blog, then it is a personal teaching blog. You can advertise whatever you want on it! Since most of us sell using a different source I think we're okay :)
OMG, this makes my head hurt. LOL! I am probably breaking all the rules. Someone needs to come up with a manual! :)

It is an interesting question, isn't it? I don't sell anything directly from my blog, but since it includes links to my commercial site and shares the name as my commercial site, the "powers that be" consider it to be a commercial blog. This has recently forced me to stop using student pictures on my blog, even though I do have parent permission to use them. So in my case, the ones that are dolling out the consequences are the ones that get to decide whether or not my blog is commercial or not! I could ignore their directive, but I could lose my job- that's my consequence, and it's a big one. So I will comply!
Who gets to decide if your blog is a commercial one or not? You do- as long as you are alright with accepting whatever consequences are handed to you. :)
Good luck!
