Hey Kinder Friends,
It is hard to believe it is this time of year again. I think it al happened so fast. Each year Veteran's Day seems to sneak up on me and I scramble to find something appropriate for the occasion. Each year I search high and low for just the right book to help me explain and discuss this important day with my class.
Sometimes those specific books are hard to come by especially on our level. So I decided to create a few resources to help get the message across and reach my objectives in a kinder appropriate way. And once I started, I really didn't want to stop because all things patriotic are just too much fun. Besides a year in Kindergarten there are so many patriotic celebrations and holidays.

We usually wear our red, white and blue clothes on this day but we are always looking for something to make us all look united. Our hero badges do just that and they are super simple to make. All you have to do is print these on cardstock and color and cut. They look great laminated but it is not necessary. We pin these on to our clothes with safety pins and have no problems with that. We do a veteran's day program every other year and this will be perfect to decorate the gym for next year's event! Thanks!
