Veterans Day Freebie!



Hey Kinder Friends,

It is hard to believe it is this time of year again. I think it al happened so fast. Each year Veteran's Day seems to sneak up on me and I scramble to find something appropriate for the occasion. Each year I search high and low for just the right book to help me explain and discuss this important day with my class. 

Sometimes those specific books are hard to come by especially on our level. So I decided to create a few resources to help get the message across and reach my objectives in a kinder appropriate way. And once I started, I really didn't want to stop because all things patriotic are just too much fun. Besides a year in Kindergarten there are so many patriotic celebrations and holidays.



We usually wear our red, white and blue clothes on this day but we are always looking for something to make us all look united. Our hero badges do just that and they are super simple to make. All you have to do is print these on cardstock and color and cut. They look great laminated but it is not necessary. We pin these on to our clothes with safety pins and have no problems with that.

Presidential Freebies!



Happy President's Day Kinder Friends,

It's always fun when a patriotic holiday rolls around. As I was looking through my files to prepare for President's Day this year I was longing for some new things to use in the classroom. I decided to update my own file and just add a few things that I have been needing to teach my objectives for Social Studies. One thing led to another and I added over 60 pages to my unit. So, if you have previously purchased this item hop on over to TpT to re download this unit and all of the new pages. As I was working on this file, I realized that there are so many patriotic holidays within my school year and so I bundled them all together to help me teach, observe and celebrate each holiday within the year.

Patriotic Fun and FREEBIES!





Hey Kinder friends,

With Election Day this week and Veteran's Day quickly on the horizon it is no wonder I am feeling a little patriotic. As I was looking around for some Veteran's Day fun I remembered our Pledge of Allegiance badges we made earlier this year.  Click the image above for free printables.

As I was looking around on the internet I came across a Veteran's Day book just perfect for Kindergarten!

 

 

And you know how it goes...one thing leads to another and I found a great flag book too!

 

 

Yep, I ordered this and then I found this!

 

 

After looking though lots and lots of books I finally found this one that is perfect for kinder kids and it explains the voting process in terms that young children can understand. And it inspired us to have a little election of our own.

 

 

We were all so excited to get in that voting booth and vote for our favorite American Symbol. We were moving fast because we just wanted to know the election results. Lots of excitement as we all went inside our voting booth to cast our vote!

 

 

Preparation for our Kindergarten Election was super simple and a lot of fun!
