Here We Come!

https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Here-I-Come-First-Grade-Poem--247664

Hey Kinder Friends,
Well we are just about to reach the finish line and wrap up another year in kindergarten. With field days and fun days behind us it is time to look ahead. After graduation we are considered...first graders!

So for the last week we talk about gearing up for first grade. And for an end of the year keepsake we add hand prints, for the last time, to the poem above. It is pretty simple to pull together on the last week of school. Just gather all of those watercolor paints and let them paint! This is the easiest way to use them up. The poems are printed on cardstock so that it can withstand the watercolors. The cardstock absorbs the paint quickly so these are quick to dry. The best part is that you can add the tempera hand prints even when the watercolors are still wet. In most cases this project can be accomplished in a day.

If you teach prek you could use the poem with this book. This one is always on the library shelf on the first day of school.

Graduation Freebies And Goodies!

Hey Kinder friends,
Can you believe that it is already time to think about the last days of school? I can't really seem to believe it even though I am starting to think about summer plans and mile long to-do lists at the same time. With everything going on it is hard to even concentrate on just one thing. But Kinder graduation is upon us or soon will be. It is hard to find the energy to plan for this so I tried to make it as easy as possible last year so that this year I could focus on something else.
I was super lucky to find these graduation caps last year and again this year at Dollar Tree. I had no idea I would love these as much as I did last year so I had to use them again. I was able to find a lot of cute decorations that will come in handy for decorating our stage area where our graduation will take place! A little mix and match of different sets with the leftover decorations is a super easy fix without a lot of time or effort.
this time of year a quick fix is in order! And once all of that is done I started thinking about a Kindergarten keepsake. Maybe I could squeeze just one more hand print to send home this year. You know the parents never get tired of the hand prints especially when they are where they should be!
This is the perfect book to read in the end and to go along with the hand print keepsake.

Graduation Goodies!

Hey Kinder Friends,
Don't think for a minute I am wishing this year away. I'm actually trying to treasure what is left and go out with that feel good feeling. So, in the spirit of that I have been busy getting stuff ready for graduation. It still is hard for me to believe that it is almost here. Sometimes I wonder where did the time go? I know the last and final weeks will be busy and I will be preoccupied with other things so it seemed like the perfect time to get a jump start on the end of the year fun because when it finally gets here I want nothing more than to just...print and go and get on with my day! My class has been good to me this year. I have had a classroom full of visitors, observers and a student teacher. My kids have made me so proud because each and every time they kept on working and doing their best. Actually they do that all the time... I know I am lucky. I wanted to make them a Kindergarten keepsake because I was feeling a little misty when I realized that soon they will be considered first graders and they will be moving on. And like I said, we are so busy this time of year I needed a print and go file for graduation. So, I made a keepsake craftivity and a graduation edit, print and go file.

As I was out and about I found these cute hats from Dollar Tree. I never really thought that they would be so cute but out of the package and stapled together they are adorable and it just takes a minute to get these ready to go. How cute are the kids going to be as they leave wearing these after graduation? Too cute, I know I could not resist! If you are out and about take a look at Dollar Tree because they had lots of good stuff to get your graduation underway with very little prep! I saw some cute banners, tablecloths, table scatter, cups, plates, glittery decorations, bags and even graduation buttermints!

This is one of my favorite art projects for the end of the year. Nothing says Kindergarten more than some colorful and messy paint! We used markers on the frame, we used water colors for the picture and then we printed it with painted hand prints. If you want some end of the year fun too just click on the image above to grab your prek, kinder and first grade version! The poem was printed on cardstock and laminated when dry. Still gets me a little misty when I look at it!
